Hello all. I'm new to this forum, but not to F4. The greatest sim to date in my opinion, and now, even more so. Great job everyone. ODS is fantastic thus far.

I don't think that any single sim has EVER, in the history of software, raised to the level of sophistication or staus as F4 and the SP series, solely by advocates and simulator fanatics. From what it was to what it is, done for the love of it. Imagine that. Hats off to you.

Anyways, I flew a few mission and I'm very impressed. I've seen some very neat action just looking out the canopy, not to mention what my own strike produced as far as "WOW" factor.

I did notice the sky has bands where the color change is not "blending". Is there a skyfix for this, or is this something that can be done in the graphics setting?

Not a big deal, but a nice smooth color transition would be nice.

Thanks for ODS! Looking forward to all the other projects in the hopper.

Good Day!

skyfix and other eye-candy stuff will be added later, along with more serious database tweak, especially loadouts i think.

sure, i'd like to hear some Arabian voice files there! :D

I highly recommend T-Bone's platinum skyfix.

Its the one I've been using for ages now, check out the tornado bombing shots, they are taken using that skyfix.

Snake-

Any way to tell how many downloads there have been? I'd be very curious. :)

Excellent work guys...one thing I've tested..and I don't want to come off sounding like I'm complaining because i'm not, but...the coordinates still do not match up with real life. Doesn't DEM data contain accurate lat/longs and terrain sizes? Does anyone know what's causing the mismatch? Is it some part of the conversion/equations? I set up a route out of Shaikh Isa to Basher and loading those lat/longs in Falcon do not correspond to where they should be. Shaikh Isa is around 15 miles off to the east from where it really is (ie, the real lat/long is in the water to the west) and Busher is around 25 miles off to the east as well. I'm not bitching, I just would just like to know what's causing it...here's the route..you can make a generic TE in falcon taking off from Shaikh Isa and then load up these coordinates...
I'll be back in 28 days..going TDY.

Here's the route...

If there are any bugs, where would you like for them to be posted?

By the way, this is so sweet. Good work guys.

Not at all, all feedback is welcome.

This is Codec's department, dem data and conversion.

But at least we are near the accurate values if we are only 15 miles off :)

Yes we like to hear anything that's wrong in the theater.

This is with the ODS campaign:

I noticed that threat circles is not an option available in the map options. I use them for planning quite a bit. I figured that they are turned off for right now for data editing. Yes, no?

I got a strike generated to go after the Al Kuwayt underground factory at 0213 in the morning. Showed up on station and I could not find it. I looked on radar and with the targeting pod where it was suppose to be. All that there was in the desert was a strange triangle shape. There were no buildings on radar or in the view of the targeting pod. The rest of the flight dropped their bombs and the debrief said that there were buildings and bunkers damaged.

I overflew the Arabian Gulf on the way out. I noticed that over water about 75 miles south the radar altimeter showed a 1000 foot change of elevation as seen by the difference between the barometric altitude and rad altitude. Counted up for work still in progress on tiling. If I can later, I'll see if I can get the exact coordinates for it.

Other than that so far, this is awesome. I loved watching the walls of aircraft heading out to go put a nail in the Iraqi coffin. Watched a whole tank battalion taken out by a flight of I do believe B-52's.

Threat Circles option is taken away because it always results to CTD in 128 theaters. This will be the case with Vietnam, Afghanistan and Europe unless it can be DATA fixed, remember exe coding has stopped.

Also did you notice that TE teams page have been removed, another CTD for 128 theaters.

Yes please do.

Hey you guys! Too bad you can't fly ODS in my rough 3d pits-- F4, F15C, F15E, Tornado IDS, and F111! :)

BTW i mistakenly use a wrong bmp for skin#450, so your M1973/M1974 may looks odd with skins. sorry-- guess you hardly find this bug :p

Same here

this Skyfix is not only the best for ODS
it is also the best for tilecreation
since it is most true to the color of the tile(flying early afernoon).
other skyfixes have the tendency to add abit of color to the tiles
