Year of the Rat Version 3 for FF5.55

Hello all.
I have updated my Year of the Rat campaign for the PMC Vietnam Theater. This is a modification of the PMC Vietnam Theater and does not represent original work by myself, nor the Freefalcon team.

This version is for Freefalcon 5.55 ONLY, and will not work with previous versions of Freefalcon, nor other versions of Falcon 4.0 due to database incompatibilities.

Installation instructions:
1. Download and install the PMC Vietnam Theater version 1.0.1.
2. Download the Year of the Rat Version 3 here: http://www.mediafire.com/?643aeza6nfu9j
3. Unzip to your Freefalcon5/Theaters/Vietnam folder, allowing it to overwrite files.
4. Start Freefalcon 5 and select the Vietnam theater, campaign scenario 1 (not the Vietnam Fictional theater).

What this mod contains:

- a modified save0.cam that edits the OOB to more or less match the US/NVA OOB for the 1972 Easter Offensive
- Malc's 2004 mission.dat file from the Panama theater that dramatically alters the way the Air ATO schedules missions
- a few hacked up Vietnamese MiG skins that I made, courtesy of Hustler's kind permission
- a small theater background document
- "No Guts, No Glory", an F-4 tactics guide

Known "issues":
- this modification does nothing to the core PMC Vietnam theater files; no new terrain, music, etc. is included or edited.
- I have not begun editing the trigger file, so there are no "victory conditions".
- the ground war does not "work" due to a number of objective linking issues. This is work for a future release.

Please post comments/criticisms here, not in the official Vietnam PMC bug folders.

Thanks for this MOD, such things are welcome addition to our theaters. I'm eager to see if users provide feedback of how the mod works in-game.

Sure thing Ram.

I've learned a lot about campaign developing since I originally wrote this campaign. It's still very rough around the edges, but it breaks my heart to see all of those awesome Phantom skins Ranger did going unused.

Eventually I'll get around to cleaning this one up; I want to finish Kuriles first. I thought I had it ready to go until that last crash I had.

Glad to hear your new mod..

my 2c - for TRI setting, you may set Stalement event for 7-14 days, then the cam can end by itself. simplest solution for all WIP theaters.
or, use ground unit ratio for win/lose event... means blue side have to keep bombing red GUs=need more CAS/interdiction flights/ac.

BTW Vnam is such a big mod that it needs lots manpower in every field..like ITO2.

Toonce's,

In your .tri file,just make sure that it is pointing to the F4ID #'s you are using.
#xxxx Maynot be Saigon anymore................ :shock:
