I just say this because even with an athalon 800 256MB SDRAM and Voodoo5500 64MB card I still cant run Efalcon worth a crap.

WOlfe cant even fly Efalcon on his rig.

But Vietnam via 108i2 and RP4 works very smooth all details at max.
Theres just no moving forward for guys like me.

Jack, have a look on frugals forum (www.frugalsworld.com), and search the Falcon4 forum for Voodoo, V5 and V5500. There is stacks of help over there for you V5 guys... I beleive Frugal himself runs eF on his V5 still, with an increase in framerate, so there are ways to do it... I suggest you go over there and have a look...

I'm rather busy with theater work, but this D3D vs Voodoo thing is getting out of hand... one person says it works great, another says its slide show.

If and when I get any free time for this, I'll get to bottom of the eFalcon 1.10 voodoo settings that lets you (possibly?) run it smoothly.

So lets get back to this when I have further information.

Oh yeah, if YOU have further information, please post it, saves me the trouble

I got eFalcon 1.10 running,in fact it's almost as smooth as 108i2.I got no idea what I did wrong but when I installed the patches I had to have dicked something up.I reinstalled and it cured whatever the problem was.It's not quite as fast as 108i2 but it's close.When I installed the 128 segment Vietnam gameworld I saw a slight hit on the frame rates but it's not a problem and the frame rates are still very acceptable.I suspect that the massive size of the gameworld might be causing this but it's a price I'm more than willing to pay.The only time I see any real slow down is when I bomb a target and pan my view around to watch the explosions.

Actually no, in the sense that falcon engine only loads like certain amount of tiles around you, no more, no less. So theater size wont matter.

What you are really seeing is Efalcon induced halucinations!

I know Im spoiled cause Im used to getting nice smooth displays even in the thick of things.

Its probably the card but I still cant get Ef to show the displays Im used to. And it hurts cause EF is superior to 108i2 in many other ways.

But Ill check on the tips above anyway. Thanks guys ,
