Aegean campaign design talk
just some thoughts for a start..
1. first.. we need story and map to set up a game.
2. with this nicely-done terrain, there's a lot of possibilities.. the campaign do not have to be a massive WW3 one..maybe a short conflict on a small island or area, with fewer units involved.

Re: Aegean campaign design talk
Sorry for asking here... How can I select the number of airplanes in a sqn? When, in TacEdit, I select Add Unit-Squadron-Fighter-F-16xx the number is already filled and I can't change it.
Also, whatever change I make to stores, it doesn't apply to campaign.
P.S.: I can make a story... Very realistic

Where are the stories of these two campaigns?
On the other question I 've asked, can anyone help me?

For both of these changes you need to use F4Browse, which affects the entire DB...Corsair wrote:...How can I select the number of airplanes in a sqn? When, in TacEdit, I select Add Unit-Squadron-Fighter-F-16xx the number is already filled and I can't change it.
Also, whatever change I make to stores, it doesn't apply to campaign...
If that doesn't frighten you I can explain how to do it.

Re: Aegean campaign design talk
First, back up the entire DB (Falcon4\TerrData\Objects).
Changing squadron numbers:
In F4Browse, click on "Units" and find the entry for the squadron (not flight) you want to edit. Double click on the squadron and it will bring up the squadron screen.
At the bottom of that screen you will see a box with all of the planes that are loaded in the squadron (select Detail view to see the qty of each).
Now you can either lower the qty for some of the "slots" or delete some of the slots entirely. If you are instead adding units, add more slots or increase the qty of the existing slots (limit 2 per slot I think, you can make the slot have 0).
Make sure you hit the "UPDATE" button when finished.
Now, that was the "simple" explination. Know that the total quantity you make the squadron will not be the total qty that appears in campaign, because that depends on the force ratio sliders. For a more detailed explination you should read the RP5 manual.
If the campaign crashes after you make the change it's probably because the number of slots or the qty you put in the slots was wrong (hopefully you took my advice and backed up the DB)
Changing the squadron stores:
As above, find the squadron whose stores you want to edit and bring up the squadron screen.
Click on the button labeled "SSD Ind". This will bring up all of the weapons in the DB and next to each one is the qty that will be available to that squadron. Find the weapons you want to change, double-click on them, and change the qty to what suits you (max is 256 I think).
Know that some of the stores indexes are shared by other squadrons, so by editing them for "your" squadron, you might also be changing them for other squadrons as well. You can see what if any other squadrons are sharing that index by clicking on the "Used by" button in the stores screen.
When you have made the stores changes, you also have to update the squadron stores for the campaign with TacEdit (a process I assume you are already familiar with).
Good luck.

Re: Aegean campaign design talk
Isn't it better to use TDF file to define a new theater with its own database?

Re: Aegean campaign design talk
Yes it certainly is. That's what I would normally do, but might be a bit of overkill if Corsair is only looking to make a few minor changes.Snake Man wrote:Isn't it better to use TDF file to define a new theater with its own database?
*EDIT* I should also warn you, Corsair, if you edit the main DB you most likely will have compatibility issues if you fly MP.
After a quick search of the forum I couldn't find a specific thread describing how to do what SM was talking about so I'll whip up a quick tutorial on how to do that and post the link here.

I think it is already overkill enough for him
btw DoctorX, are really sure to know what is going on with that ssd stuff? I mean you know how that resuply works?

Re: Aegean campaign design talk
By the way, can you doctor X tell me how to cut-off the resuplies? It is very unrealistic for Aegean Theater, the two countries to have every 6 hrs new airplanes.derStef wrote: I mean you know how that resuply works?
I found one entry in TacEdit -> Teams -> Other and Stats, with the name of Supply. I want to totally cut-off the reinforcements.
