Bugs Belgian Airfields

Post by Doc0301 »

These are the correct headings for the Belgian airfields already implemented in Europe v.06:

BRUSSELS NATIONAL
08L/26R
08R/26L
20/02

BEAUVECHAIN
04L/22R dim. 10085 x 148
04R/22L dim. 8038 x 74

GOSSELIES (Also known as 'BRUSSELS SOUTH'or 'CHARLEROI AIRPORT')
08/26
To my knowledge only used for civil trafic

FLORENNES
08L/26R dim. 11105 x 148
08R/26L dim.7381 x 74

KLEINE BROGEL
05L/23R dim. 10158 x 148
05R/23L dim. 7874 x 75

DEURNE
11/29
Only used for civil trafic

KOKSIJDE, OOSTENDE , CHIEVRES and BIERSET are correct. Altough OOSTENDE only used for civil trafic

Also, 2 military airfields worth mentioning have apparently been forgotten:

BRASSCHAAT
used for Advanced Flying Training for Heli pilots
RWY 17/35 dim. 2952 x 98
Elev. 076
GPS 51° 20.50 N, 04° 30.33 E

URSEL
NATO reserve airfield (just like CHIEVRES !)
RWY 07/25 dim. 8940 x ?
GPS 51° 08.70 N, 03° 28.60 E

Hope this helps

BTW: best wishes for 2008,guys. Keep up the good work. We love you.

Doc, I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but I am posting it incase you are not aware. Falcon only has a limited number of runway/airbase models with pre-defined runway headings. Not all real life runways can be correctly represented in sim. Usually the closest headings for the runways are chosen to represent that real life runway heading. My 0.02 worth....

Sorry, I didn't know. Is it possible to brief me on the RWY headings and airbase models that are available ?

Nevertheless, some AB have doubled RWY (L/R) now, and 2 have not been implemented at all.
Perhaps I can verify and check with the existing models, if you don't mind of course?
Perhaps for the next version?

Thanks

Hi there,

Sorry for the (very) late reply. (I'm having my house rebuild).

Keeping the restrictions in mind, these are my suggestions:

1. Change 'Kleine Brogel' to RWY 5/23 L/R
2. Change "Gosselies" to "Brussels South"
3. Create "Ursel" RWY 8/26 (for GPS: see earlier post)
4. Create "Brasschaat" RWY 16/34 (for GPS: see earlier post)

Hope this helps

For an explanation of what is available, check my docs :)

http://www.candyparty.com/ST/SP/Airbase_tiles.pdf
for a list of available RWY in F4 with available tiles

http://www.candyparty.com/ST/SP/Airbase_list.zip
For a whole rundown of all airbase, real and F4 of most of F4 terrain
DO NOT modify this file gents

I will work on Europe airbase orientation when the time comes as I did with other PMC terrain
