PMC Super Six 6km Fictional 6.1km x 6.1km Farming Simulator 22 terrain, american style.

PMC Super Six 6km has performance issue bug, when staying on the edges and looking at the center terrain so that horizon is on the view, performance goes to hell and I'm getting 30FPS at best.

Was pretty cool that I actually speculated that its the cell size or unitsPerPixel and I was right.

v0.1 of this terrain is 4096 x 4096 pixel resolution heightmap and 1.5 meter unitsPerPixel, that 1.5 is quite hardcore even though default Farming Simulator has always been 2. But then again default 2 is with 2048 resolution heightmap, so yeah.

What I did was to open heightmap PNG in GIMP, scale it down (no interpolation) to 2048 (actually 2049), changed unitsPerPixel to 3, loaded terrain project in Giants Editor v9.0.2, generated collision map and saved.

Now in-game FS22 it runs rock solid 60FPS. Just beautiful.

I'm going to test v0.2.1 a bit more tomorrow and if everything runs good, then its release time.

Been testing PMC Super Six 6km v0.2.3 for several days now, it runs good rock solid 60FPS performance, more fields and several grass fields too which add grass mowing contracts.

If you have old savegames they do not work unless you replace heightmap with the new one. If someone needs step by step instructions just ask.

This is testing version here in the forum, if everything works OK I'll update this on our web page as well.

Updated Dev Diary PMC Super Six 6km with todays developments.

Here is a new testing version: PMC_Super_Six_6km_v0.2.5.7z - 16.4mb.

Added field definitions, mostly single shapes but there are few simple shapes as well, also one more grass field, medium size. Test and please report back how v0.2.5 works.

In GIMP opened PDA mapview overview.dds image, then started to doodle some outside areas beyond the center 2048 x 2048 actual PDA map image area.

Used Terrain Overview Image RGB Colors page to guide me for color usage, otherwise applied GIMP Terrain Design Document tutorial info.

Quick work, could put in some more randomness there, it doesn't exactly fit with the screwy center area, but guess it works more or less?

Almost makes me want to go buy one of those fake farm yards and farm those fake fields :P
