Scenery
I have never messed with Terrain Builder, but I would love to place towns and buildings and such. I've downloaded a map, and for the life of me cannot figure out how to open in in the TB to start teaching myself how to place scenery. This is far more complicated than Train sim route editors that I am used to and such. The youtube videos are pretty weak in general and I've gained nothing from any of them.

Re: Scenery
I have managed to get a small terrain area of Colorado installed and working. Looking at the wiki for getting sat images for my terrain, does this really require globalmapper at 500 dollars cost? Is there not a decent way to get sat images for my terrain at a far better price? I really would like to have the sat images for my terrains, it makes object placement much better and keeps the region more realistic and recognizable.

Re: Scenery
Thank you. I will check that out. I didn't mind shelling out for L3DT and Mikero's Tools....but that pricetag on global mapper was a total deal breaker for me.

Re: Scenery
Would be so much easier to use your premade maps. Really like some of the afghan maps, but the road and object placement is so shoddy it ruins the fun of them. Hopefully they are ready to go by ArmaX!

Re: Scenery
Also, as far as scenery items, such as building and things. Are there any sets I should avoid. I've seen where the jbad buildings don't really like alive and the civ placement modules. I've read cup scenery items are good to use. The PMC stuff looks good. I've seen mention of e76 or something like that. what would be the best scenery sets and roads to try to use, besides vanilla arma and cup stuff?

Re: Scenery
Besides CUP, well you said it yourself PMC (Opteryx Objects) is good stuff. Avoid that E76 stuff its not good. I'm not familiar of the other object packs, other than for example PMC Opteryx Objects is the only for one middle east theme.
