I'm considering adding the VTE public release into torrent download also as well the usual direct http downloads from news sites as we normally do.

Been thinking that since this torrent method is so new for us at least, I might give the download access to the ones who are interested, bit earlier than the news sites, so in a way such guys would get a sneak preview of it.

Is there anyone out there who would be interested in VTE and is capable of running torrent client to get it and seed a bit to help the initial overwhelming download rush?

I agree with torrents. I have some people who could help seed.

Another option would be yomas addon sync. We use it all the time over at Zeus. It is a bit of a hassle to set up server side, but once you're there it makes updating a breeze. But torrents are good too, I am all for that.

Anyway, that is all i wanted to say. I'd sign up for the closed beta but I suspect the open beta can't be that far away, so I'll just give you my feedback when that time comes. I know we had some good times testing VTE for arma 1, so this will be a hoot I am sure!

I think yomas sync is great if you have to upload a new version of your mod frequently (i.e ACE).
If you upload a full realease versione and only few patch the usual http download method is easier and faster (no need to configure anything)
Torrent is also a good option, for those who can use it !!

So it seems like there will be just the traditional http direct download from stable and fast euro server, what mirror sites and people do after that, its their business.

The v1.3.10 release is now only available on from gameupdates.org torrent site. Should be very quick to download for anyone.

Earlier v1.3.10 torrent download from gameupdates.org was total success, even though VTE doesn't seemingly get much feedback and whatever, the torrent was getting hits/downloads all the time, no there wasn't like dozens of people downloading but there was someone all the time. As the seeding servers in gameupdates are very good, plus my own link was seeding it, it was pure speeding to download it.

I'm very happy to see the torrent work out so well.

And now, the just released VTE v1.4 has torrent in gameupdates.org again, hopefully people enjoy the download as in the previous version. I'll be seeding it for months to come, most likely until new version is released.
