ArmA 2 Missions area opened

Post by Snake Man » 2009-01-05 11:03:02

We have opened the "ArmA 2 Missions" forum area here. Just as in OFP and ArmA equivalent areas, this is meant for discussion about missions in general (not that much discussion, if any) and the various PMC missions and mostly campaigns that we are releasing.

We can use sub forums which won't clutter the index pages, but it remains to be seen if there is need for individual areas for each campaign. Seems like the good old times (or Happy Times quoting from WW2 submariners) are gone when PMC Fury got just topics after topics full of posts.

Anyways, PMC will be editing missions and campaigns for ArmA 2 that's for sure, this is the area where all the information can be found.

Hi every one, kinda new here, been lurking this area since it started with them amazing maps for Falcon 4 and other stuff.
Did some work in the past with breaking up Falcon 4, was under the name MadMetal.

Hope to see some posts in here :)

Currently working on a total rework of a Domi for the PMC Desert 51 with Mando + ACE.
Both giving me some headakes, the former since his code is somewhat undone for A2CO.
Biggest issue right now is the extreme bad framerate in cameramode during the flightconsol.
Also a issue when u fly and using it to track targets.
Might just remove all cameras exept the weapon and recon aircraft.
The plan is to do a basicly regular Domi mission as a start to get everything running. Then I want to make it a hangarship based Domi with Nimitz and where u have to fight to get a landbase, this will be a seperate task from the regular path of cities to capture. You can disregard to get the airbase and fight it all from the ship with limited landvehicle support.

One not so evolved thing with most of the dominations out there is the size of the sidemissions, it's simplicity is stunning since just put in a marker and tell what to spawn in and it's done unless you are a good group or enough support in the mission it will be hard missions most of the times, but still simple missions. With some coding and creativity there is no limit on how you can evolve the sidemissions, this is where I will try to put in some energy as well.

Also with the huge distances on the 51km map supplyvehicles are essential.
If the final versin will be on the 51km or the 25 km desert map is open.

Regards M
