Roads lost !

After i changed the p3d of a certain road object and reloaded the island, only the individual roadsegments were left.
(During load procedure an error "something out of limits" was displayed)
Using the backup came up the same way. Gone !
My backup folder contained the road+forrestdef.xml and the island.rrp.
Can anybody tell me if there is another file that i should have backed up ?
Or maybe there is a way to restore once existing roads other than rebuilding them which does not suit this case.
I'll be deeply greatfull for any hints.

Did you change the name/path of the p3d object?

The files listed are all you need, you may need to open them up in notepad and correct via "Find/replace" all the changed p3d filenames and paths.
