thanks ccc.
ok, i should add these ones as not parent and as no brigade. have i also leave 0 for division? i think so.
ccc wrote:i start from the follwoing - coordinates at the end of unit. these units do not belong to any div. let me know if it help the TCL or manual tweak.
the unit mission should be set to defend, or secure.

the coordinates:
163, 168 Infantry Brigades M16 infantry 473, 354 469, 348
503 Armor Brigade M48 tank 471, 354
101 Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion (1 company) 467 354, special assult unit
for e.g. Mi16 infantry 473(X coordinate), 354(Y coordinate), 469 (X), 348(X)..... is that right?

THEN: GROUND UNITS THAT I SHOULD USE IN MY MOD: PLEASE HELP!
you know that i just can add battalions, so different vehicles/units are packed together. thats sometimes problematic, e.g. for Taiwan it would be nice to have HUMVEE/Avengers as Airdefense in a battalion with M163Vulcans. or also problematic that there is an SA-16 in an SA-2battalion, i mean for older scenarios somekind of unrealistic....
i hope you understood the prob, if not rightclick on a battalion and you see that there are different units in it. so i/we can only add a "whole" battalion. we can't set 3M-16gunners and 3M1A1 tanks with 2 MRLS.....

Here what is sure and where i need advice:

- Patriot ADS OK
- Hawk ADS OK
- Skyguard or Patriot ADS INSTEAD OF Sky Bow I???
-
- M163 Vulcan (there are 9M163 Vulcans & 12 M54Chapparals in a battalion -> the right choice, because ROC has Chapparals)
- ANYTHING ELSE FOR BLUE AirDefense? K-30 BIHO would be nice, but there are also 6Pegasus in a battalion. what do you think?
- WHAT MECH UNITS? K-200? AAV7-A1?
- TANK battalions: M48A5, M60A3.
- HQ: k-200 or M2A2 BCV?
- SP GUNS: M109battailion is OK.
- SS MISSILE: ?
- TOWNED ARTY: 155 Gun is OK.
- INFANTRY: Recon Squad & M-16

ok i hope you know now what i need the advice for!!!

cheers

- for units on Taiwan, i suggest use..
Divsion 6(north), 8(south), 10(central taiwan), then Bridge #..

- for offshore island units, yes you can use Div 0 or other number, maybe Div 1. remember, each Div can have many Brigades, and each brigade can have 3-5 battalions.
the coordinates:
Quote:
163, 168 Infantry Brigades M16 infantry 473, 354 469, 348

for e.g. Mi16 infantry 473(X coordinate), 354(Y coordinate), 469 (X), 348(X)..... is that right?
> in this case, Peng hu defend command,

Div 1, Brigade 163, (473, 354 ).
Div 1, Brigade 168, (469, 348).
each brigade can have one HQ, three M-16 infantry battalions..and sometimes has one towed artillery battalion > thats FIVE battalions maximal!!

you may place the individual battalions around brigade coordinate as you wish.

- for blue ground unit type, just use those of ROK and US type. don't bother fine-tuning them ATM.

- for SAM, i think your setting is ok. according to wiki, now there're..
Patriot 2 GEM, 3 sites.
Skybow I + II, mixed battalion, 6 sites.
improved Hawk - 20 sites!!

- BTW i think you are going too deep into DB edits..
Skyguard or Patriot ADS INSTEAD OF Sky Bow I -

huh? Sky Bow I is a SAM , range 100km. you may use patriot for it.
Skyguard system is a Gun-missile ADS, gun is 35mm twin oreiken , missile is quaplex AIM-7. the units are exclusively for airbase AD. i don't know if the DB has a working unit.

- M163 Vulcan (there are 9M163 Vulcans & 12 M54Chapparals in a battalion -> the right choice, because ROC has Chapparals)

taiwan has no M163 vulcan. let me tell you why - because the vulcan gun need A LOT of ammo - and not that effective! The generals prefer spent the money on M-16 ammo.

- ANYTHING ELSE FOR BLUE AirDefense? K-30 BIHO would be nice, but there are also 6Pegasus in a battalion. what do you think?

it's ok to have them. or leave them alone.

- WHAT MECH UNITS? K-200? AAV7-A1?

mechanized units use M113. marine uses AAV7.

- HQ: k-200 or M2A2 BCV? M113 or K200.

- SS MISSILE: ? MRLS is ok.

hey ccc. about AMX/F-18A: Would the hornet be the BETTER CHOICE for representig the IDF OR should i leave the AMX?????? WHAT would be better or is it unimportant?

OK, i leave the Airdefense as it is in my latest downloadable save2.cam.
i mean i added there also some Pegasus ADS around.... i leave them ...
now i beginn to add blue army units. again for the "individual/not parent" i have to set brig0 and div0. is that right? i think everything esle is clear for me now. only what to set on these.....

thanks for the help and advices!

cheers

for IDF - it's ok to use both. don't bother with it ATM.

for independent brigades - yes Div can be 0 or other number. for Brigade#, check my previous post.. you can use those Real life numbers.
as for the following battalions, i suggest use 1.2.3.4...and so on.

note : when adding units to campaign, it's not necessary to add all PLA ground units. the unit number is used for those already on taiwan.
among the three group armies, 31st is main invasion force.
