My comments here are the same as Lebanon Crisis - much work in models, skins, and carriers. Doable but much work.

My initial thoughts for biggest bang for the buck on ITO2 are to work on refinement of terrain tiles along the coast, Sinai, and the Golan Heights and to start some airbase upgrades with those models you made a couple of years ago.

If we can get someone interested in doing some model work and skinning then both the Suez Crisis and Lebanon scenarios could be nice historical based campaigns to add to the 4 campaigns we have now.

yeah.. we knew it. GREAT job on FF5 DB..thanx for adding and activating many new 3d toys in FF5..many of them bring back memory heheh..
say, the SR-71 low-quality model was done in 3ds, in 2003, first lod conversion in 2004, latest animated lod tweak in 2006..now further polishing and released to the public in 2009  Mitsubishi F-1and Kawasaki C-1 were done around 2004 too. and..the F-104 could be dated back to SP3 era.
i dont' expect the database work can be done shortly.. you know.. it's a matter of passion..can be done in 3-4 weeks( simply replacing old one with new models and skins), or 3-4 years!(polish every bid to its best)

agree.. a nice-looking terrain can benefit all related mods. sorry tile stuff is beyond my scope.

yes finishing-and polishing all ITO2 stuff is first priority.

@ccc - based on what I saw in Nevada of your "horrible work" - I thought you did a rather nice job with tiles - - you are too modest.

I hope to have another working Beta for FreeFalcon by perhaps end of November. It is my belief that the beta cycle will be rather short. Most of what is being done is model replacement, bringing old Cobra models up to FF5.3 standard. This material has already been extensively tested for about a year now and unless I really goof on integration - the testing will be focused on verifying that what works in Korea works in ITO2 with new skins. Further, the bulk of effort will be on upgrading the campaigns and DB to achieve the final win/loss/draw game state for ITO and avoid the stalled ground campaign. In a parallel effort tiling in currently on-going and I hope to have a new beta terrain package before the holidays.

The Lebanon and Suez campaigns are very interesting and depending on how ITO2 is received, I may consider adding the necessary material to acitvate a full 5 historical campaigns and 1 fictional campaign for ITO2.

The airbase project is a bigger nut to crack. According the Baldeagle we have a bit of hardcoding with regards to airbase pieces and parts. So, rebuilding airbases and customizing them for ITO2 may be far more difficult than simply moving a few things around in the editor. But, if there is a way - I give myself pretty good odds at finding it.

Model making, skinning, and the tweaking to which you refer are easy in LOD/Legacy Format. However, when you have to add the DXM piece you basically double the work for integration due to the maintenance of dual databases. Integrating all the new material was a good bit of work even by my standards.

My attitude towards new models is to try to get the very best model I can so that what ever is integrated will provide some lasting enjoyment and be playable.

well.. ITO2 has a highly-customized DB, a true proof of "dedicated DB for theater mod" idea..once it's out, simmers and modders may realize and decide.. if the DB work deserve.

At this moment, i just hope coders could make FF platform more stable, for the upcoming ITO2.
