Change names of obj in saveX.cam via TacEdit

Change names of obj in saveX.cam via TacEdit

Hi all,

it is possible to change the names of objects (Airbases, Ports, brigdes, powerplants) but HAS THIS AN NEGATIVE EFFECT IN CAMPAING, I MEAN REASON FOR CTD's ? :?:

i'll rename some objects (bridges/nonames,..) in my Taiwan campaign mod --> viewtopic.php?t=21391

please help, thanks guys

It's fine as far as I've done it. Just be sure that you are using the latest .wch file and that it gets updated. Going off of memory, it seems TacEdit was a little flakey at times about this but I think if you open TacEdit, immediately go and change the name of the Objective you want to change then save it and close out. Then re-enter TacEdit you should be able to see your change has taken affect. Seems it was sometimes a two step process where I changed it, closed out after save, then re-entered TacEdit, opened the objectives property box and had to find the name in the list of names and then re-save it. Not sure but I know it did work.

Under FF3 I tried this in Europe theater. I put a NEW AB on the map, I added new name and placed two sqadron on to AB. EVERYTHING were fine.

So my experience that works.
