Tacedit for Falcon 4.0 Allied Force

Post by molnibalage » 2007-01-28 19:03:36

My question is simply. Is there any way to modify an Allied Force campaign? Is there any version of Tacedit for AF?

No, unless you are a programmer and can reverse engineer the AF cam, trn and tac files and create one yourself.

Your only choice is to use the current TacEdit 2.48 with SP4 cam (or trn or tac) file to make the changes you want then bring those files into AF.

So, if I modify an SP4 campaign wtih tacedit (I have done this with an FF3 campaign.) I can 'move' into AF and works? Is FF3 campaign not valid?

How can I convert an SP4 campaign for AF?

A FF3 campaign uses a different database arrangement (is my understanding; I haven't tried it myself). So the OCDIDs are very different. There are still some differences between SP4 database and AF but they are not a lot of differences. LP also added some new vehicles in AF that didn't exist in SP4 database (e.g., Su-27SM and Mig-29SM). That is why SP4 is the best way to go because it is very similar to the AF database in structure (OCDID wise).

And yes, you can modify a SP4 campaign and assuming everything else is working correctly (links/paths, etc.) it should work in AF.

I copy the campaings of SP4.2OCI to AF, but there is a big problem. Most of the squadrons don't have any weapon. With F4Browse I checked the squadron stores and made a new stores but it was uneffective. Any idea?

I checked that F-15E and F-16C-50 squadrons have munitions after the copy in AF. I changed the 'bad' squadron's store numbert to same az F-15E, but is was no effect for stores of 'bad' squadrons. I don't understand why isn't working.

Every squadron are correct they are same in AF camp. as in SP4.2OCI.

I wouldn't use the stock OF campaigns, try these instead, they fix a nasty bug.
