Error 245 .\Tmap.cpp
I received an error when trying to test hows my theater going, I nearly completed the tutorial though finished almost the whole thing altogather and so this error is kinda what I don't quite I understand, I'll try and give how much detail it is...hope it helps:
1)st error:
-------------------------------------------------
Error 245 .\Tmap.cpp Nov 16 2006 |
------------------------------------------------ |
(X) The operation completed sucessfully |
: Bad terrain header (color table) |
Press OK to Quit |
-------------------------------------------------
Well I know it had something to do with the color thingy, is it?
2)nd error
[img_max]http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g109/ ... /error.jpg[/img_max]
I know the pic is quite large but I have to do it to make sure I give as much detail as possible I can, sorry.

I edited the topic here. Do not start topics with subject ot "pls help 4 me!!1" they are just lame. If you know what is your problem like in here the "Error 245 .\Tmap.cpp" for example, post that or the utility you had the error with, into the topic subject line so it has some more meaning.
Also good tip is to use the search feature of the forum many times before posting, I know there was no match for this problem in the database so thats ok, but just in case in the future, use search before posting a new topic and remember to put meaningful subject line.

@Bulletkid,
it is obvious from your picture that your theater definitions are not correct. Take a look at the linkage between your theater.lst file and your new theater definitions file, <your_theater_name>.tdf. Insert whatever you named your theater into the <your_theater_name> space in the file above. That's your error #2 I think. Better yet, post the contents of both your theater.lst and the theater definitions file and I wil redo them for you (may be easier). I will need to know the paths/directories to your campaign, objects, art, etc., files for your new theater.
Your error #1 is harder to diagnose. Did you rebuild your terrain from your L2/O2 files so now in your \Lead Pursuit\Battlefiled Operations\terrdata\<your_theater_name>\terrain folder you should have 14 files like this (not necessarily in this order):
theater.o5
theater.l5
theater.o4
theater.l4
theater.l3
theater.o3
theater.o0
theater.l0
theater.o1
theater.l1
theater.l2
theater.o2
theater.map
theater.mea
If you didn't you need to use SPTInstall.exe to build the terrain. It will create the other levels of L and O files that you need since DEM2Terrain only creates the L2/O2 pair (SPTInstall.exe will create the L0-L1&L3-L5 and the -O1&O3-O5 files based on the L2/O2 pair that DEM2Terrain originally created from the DEM data you downloaded.
Hope this helps. Report back here and let me know.

How many files are in your \Lead Pursuit\Battlefiled Operations\terrdata\<your_theater_name>\terrain folder ?bulletkid wrote:is the Theater.l3 and so created the same way or do I Must Run the Sptinstall.exe?
If it is only the following 4, then yes you must run SPTInstall.exe:
theater.l2
theater.o2
theater.map
theater.mea
If you have all fourteen (14) files that I listed in my previous post then there is another problem.

Ok,
I've reviewed the files you posted and I don't see any errors there.
The problem is probably a file (or files) that were not copied over to the needed directory.
At this point I don't think I can help you other than to say wait for one of the converted SP theaters to come out for AF that my group is working on, then you can emulate what we have done as far as files and paths and which files go into what location. You can get more information on these theaters we are working on in this thread over at Frugals World:

Sorry I can't be of more help at this time.

Hmm...interesting...BaldEagle wrote:The TMAP.cpp functions read in the Theater.map file found in the terrain folder. Try looking at it using PathMaker.
Bulletkid, did you convert your L2 file to 4 byte with LODFixer?
Did you change the flag on your THEATER.MAP file to "3" (assuming you are making a 128x128 segment theater)?
Thanks BaldEagle!

You still need to convert it to 4 byte. That is all that Allied Force will use.bulletkid wrote:no I did not convert it to 4-byte (thought it was only for Falcon 4.0) and I'm doing a 64x64 map...so is it necessary to do it.
Then you need to change your L2 flag in Pathmaker to a "1" (unless it is already a 1) after you convert.

Go to frugals world and download the new ODS for AF installer that was just hosted yesterday.
Go through that installation and examine how the files are installed and what files are installed. This will teach you exactly what you need to copy over.
Also, did you create a new te_new.tac file from a SP4.2 te_new.tac?
