Korea 128 theater new v0.2 has been released. It now uses the new installer, should be working for RV, OF and F4AF versions. There are quite nice fixes that bring up the playbility factor of this theater greatly.

This is still developer type release and I will not post news into our site or other forums/sites about this release. I'd be happy if nobody went ranting about this in the other forums either, but then again its free world and I'm not going to get angry is someone does. I'm planning on testing this v0.2 and perhaps do next release for the "public" community. We'll see.

	PMC Korea Theater v0.2

This is Falcon 4 Korea128 theater. Its same old korea except this time larger 128 theater in size, uses same old Korean tiles. Includes three campaigns which have victory conditions where the war ends after 300 (yes, threehundred) days. Instant Action and Tactical Engagement has been tested and they work.

The installer should work for RedViper (FreeFalcon), OpenFalcon and Falcon 4 Allied Force, when you run it, it will ask for what F4 version you want to install this theater.

Out of curiosity, what is R601 in S. Korea like? We changed it in FF4 to an airstrip instead of an airbase, which is more realistic. There is no airbase in that area of S. Korea.

I don't know about R601, I just changed the ones I found on both original korean and in korea 128 objectives.

Do you see Korea 128 in the theater selection?

This is the 128 segment sized korean theater, enhanced korea, check Korea 128 page.

during the install process, i encountered this again..

Image

after completing the install, i checked the theater selection menu - no, no korea128 in the list.

so, i opened theater.lst again, add one line..

# list of all know theaters
terrdata\theaterdefinition\korea.tdf
terrdata\theaterdefinition\korea_2005.tdf
terrdata\theaterdefinition\eurowar.tdf
Theaters\Taiwan\taiwan.tdf
Theaters\Korea128\korea128.tdf

saved, then back to selection menu, yes i can find it and switch to korea128.

jump in campaign 3d world > freeze. the same control code error, can not find far texture 31876..

so i fired up TerrainTexCompress exe, choose Autumn, done, now it fully working.

Yeah, there was a problem with the script I had SM use. I believe we have it fixed for upcoming versions, though. :)

BTW it still got the same bug as Taiwan theater, the small occupation/strategic map, shows as original korea map, not the korea128 map.

also in campaign/ priority PAK map, the korea128 map bleeds out the map.. the UI may need some tweak to host bigger map.

apart from that, im patrolling along east coast of korea pennisula.. i think simmers from Japan and china will be pleased.. this monster theater covers most key airbases in japan and china- especially East sea and yellow sea .. there are some conflicts between china and japan for oil field and, in 1994 US carrier group S-3 chasing china sub..several flights of pla fighters scrambled to intercept S-3.

Ok, i fixed the problem and the theater is work. Any campign will be finished ever? I can't see any battle ground units on the map screen. If you tell me, how can add campaign objectives and goals for AI i will try make a campaign for these map.

There is still something wrong in your install as there is ground units on the campaign.

But there istn't any thing that I can do wrong. I click on exe and it does everything. I recive a massage while I install.

"Error on command line parameter: No AF or F4."

After the install goes forward and will be finished. After this the theater isn't show in list, so i copy the tfd and tga file to \terrdata\theaterdefinition and I copy this file path line to theater.lst file.

Well, now I see the gorund units, but the air force on the blue side looks very interestnig in the largest campaing. It has MANY J-11, and many many russian plane. Why? Can I edit the campaign with Tacedit 2.48? It will be playable?

Sure, post them here. Also I should note that the installer might have a bug which ccc detected about lstupdate the command line. Should be fixed for the next version.

Ok Snake, I'm here.

I want modify one of excisting campaign. I will delete most of the units from the map and start from the beginnig. I try simulate the late '80s. I'm making new database and many other changes in the database. This can use with the original theaters too.

I checked the Editing "Campaign Descriptions and Names" topic but I did't do anything with that.

I checked the "PMC Editing Wiki - IA / TE / CAMPAIGN MAPS" tutorial too. It is VERY compicated for me at first sight. I can do a new campaign faster as I can understand the tutorial but I will try.

Would you like to have the TCL files I used to create the campaign, you can use those as base. I think instead of you modifying the existing "official" campaign, you could use the TCL's to create campaign(s) of your own, I can then walk you through how to add this new theater with your campaign(s) in there, even with the database edits.

Then when the time comes for v0.3 release of Korea 128, we would add your campaign there for everyone to enjoy.

How does that sound?

I don't konw what is TCL. I have used only F4Browse so far and Tacedit and I edited the simadata.zip

"Then when the time comes for v0.3 release of Korea 128, we would add
your campaign there for everyone to enjoy. "

Absolutly Ok.

All right here is the Korea128_tcl.rar which contains the TCL scripts I used to create the campaigns in v0.2. To run this you need also the few additional TCL's from the PMC Korean Campaigns (or from Tacedit default install I believe) and also to change the d:\\ path names reflecting your path names.

There is more discussions about TCL in theater tools tacedit tcl corner if you need help.
