Snake Man,

If you're interested in recent Layouts, coordinates, frequencies, Visual & instrument approach and departure procedures, etc... for military airfields in Belgium, check this out:

http://www.cenor.org

Choose 'Procedures' followed by 'Belgium'

You can also find the procedures for the military airfields in:
- Germany
- The Netherlands
- Norway
- Czech Republic

What else can I do to help you guys?

I like the idea to one day fly in a BAF-MLU over my hometown.

You could report all bugs and issues you found from the current Europe Theater release, we then try to do our best to fix them. This way the theater gets better. Post any bugs you've found into the europe bug topic in this forum area.

I mean you can concentrate to the fine details of the Belgium area etc.

is there a beta for AF out of europe theater ? i would like to place objects there, as this is my theater of interest...?

Though its been a while, i did a lot of manual tiling and object placement way back... (balkans, ODS or was it Iran...)

There is no updated Europe as of yet. But I'm agonizing every day before I can get to release one.

I have no dates when the Europe Theater for RV/OF and AF would be released, sorry.

KBMIL, perhaps you should open a new topic in europe forum about new objectives to be added. I'm interested to see what kind of information you have for them. We could then generate a list of which I could add into the theater. Or you could do it in and create tacedit csv export file for me when done.

if that works id be happy to add objectives ( in Belgium & the Netherlands to start, as i'm from Belgium)
btw, i'll need a serious refresher on all the procedures... :oops:

KBMIL,

In the link I mentioned before you find layouts, procedures, etc.. only for the military airfields. Do you need this info for the following (civilian) airfields ?
* Ostend (EBOS)
* Charleroi (EBCI)
* Ursel (EBUL)
In wartime these airfields will likely be used for military purposes. Perhaps only as alternate landing strip. Did you know that even today Ursel is a (non active) NATO base?

As you seem to be an expert, I'm offering my help in collecting information. (I didn't exactly major in Computerscience)

Let me know what you need.

i have plenty of info on airfields in europe, thanks... the only thing to do is to choose one in the database nearest to runway orientation of the real airport.
But for now i will not be able to do any work, as the beta install doesn't seem to work on my system with AF...

Why don't you try OF (You can fly AF and OF independently). OF has so much more to offer !! As I see it, the only bennefit of AF is its on-line stability.

that's exactely why i have AF : online stability... 3 years ago i quit falcon (BMS) because of all the CTDing...
so my goal is europe terrain for AF ;)
enough said, don't want to start a political which is best AF OF or RV discussion here...
i'll see if i can install another version of falcon, but i don't think i have the HD space for it

KBMIL,
Do you have the ODSAF version of ODS installed? If so, you can use it as a guide to figure out how to get Europe to work in AF. It can be done but it will take some work to remake some files (use the Ultimate Theater Tutorial as a guide also) and copy over other files from default Korea directories. Also, talk to Khronik he put the ODSAF installer together and is a PRO at making the older theaters work in AF.

I don't know for sure since I have never used Europe theater. But if it works like ODS installer it's just a .RAR package. Use WinRAR if it is an you can extract it to anywhere on your Hard Drive that you want. But again, I don't know for sure since I haven't used it.

No need to bother, I'll try to get new Europe installer out ASAP. And no, I have no dates in mind, I'll work on this stuff as quickly as I can :)

Hi Snake Man !

Just curious (and - I confess - also anxious): how is the work progressing? I feel so inadequate, not being able to help you.

Thanks for all your work !!

Well progress in THEATER development is actually good, however progress in Europe is zero. Right now as you've surely seen on the other topic I'm focusing on releasing ODS v0.6 and as I said in the yet another topic, then would the rest of the theaters come in alphabetical order. That order of course would mean that after ODS there will be Afghanistan and only then we get to Europe.

Well ok progress in Europe is not zero, I have done the new version installer already and dropped the historical campaigns, but infact I need to add them back. I need to create the new terrain L2 according to the update airbase CATE config file from Korea128 and Taiwan work.

ODS comes out this weekend, no question about it. Then Afghanistan to which I have the installer done already, only thing remains is testing to get it working right, and then its time for Europe work. So sorry but I cannot predict dates for three theaters ahead, lets hope it comes quickly :)

i've been playing with one of the campaign files in europe folder, aligning airbases as close as possible to real life. and trying to add some objectives to... but i'm puzzled as to the linking... how come all the values for links are different..?
Shouldn't we set fixed parameters for Highway... normal roads etc ?
And for the realligned airbases, i guess that has to be retiled to ? how s that done these days ? CATE i guess ?
If it has to be done manually, i think i can do that, but i'll need a AF version for that to be able to check the results..;

I have no clue about the link values, I just do the links and thats it.

Airbase leveling and tiling is handled with CATE, yes. I have pretty good file for Korea128/Taiwan right now so the same will be applied to europe theater, the next version will have very nice airbase tiling.
