Hey, saw a posting from T-Bone in DCS-forum:

"Also there are numerous free Google Sketchup models that are already created for Google Earth that you can use such as mosques and landmarks such as university buildings and banks. You can convert the sketchup models to 3DS Max 7 format for LOMAC.

Overall good catch with that link, thanks.

I'm sure CCC can give you further information about how these models could be used in F4 theaters. In fact... ccc, could you do some just for fun 3d previews of some of these buildings placed, like the iraq hands of victory swords for example, I'd really like to see how they would fit in the terrain?

my 0.002c,

1. i knew this rapidly growing model pool..but i am not familiar with the conversion process. Ideally we want the skp models converted into 3ds format with all textuxre-mapping data preserved, then we can turn it into usable LOD/DXM models immedately - without any additional work.

i googled some converter info, the third link looks best..tho i have no sample model yet. if you have a converted skp model(in 3ds format), i'd glad to check it.

2. While trying to save modelling work, you probably underestimate the workload and difficulty of adding new objective/feature items to falcon database. i did not succeed in this field.. only Fred knew the magic. ( my last try is tweaking the SAM slot coordinates in existing SAM objective, just changing few digits, yet it won't work.. wierd )
