TE template, and tactical engagements created, AF

EDIT:

I created- over a year ago now- several different missions for ODS v0.7 and F4 AF. I would have shared them earlier if I had remembered what my account name was here. First, installed SP4 and used tacedit to correctly assign the alliances. Next, I loaded the TE in AF and went through and right-clicked on all the objects and assigned them to their proper countries using Google earth... what a PAIN. After I got those template TEs done, I created "Operation Opera" (Israeli strike on Osirak reactor 1981) and a few other missions, including a massive ODS TE where, AMONG the 500 sorties or so, you can actually go SCUD hunting in search boxes (yes, I have SINGLE SCUD launchers, not whole battalions, driving around in the desert along with lots of other single vehicles so you have to sort em with your FLIR/mavs). F-16s actually did go SCUD hunting in the southern deserts of Iraq, looking for the SCUDs that were being launched on Saudi Arabia. Anyway, there are actually 5 or 6 completely separate F-16 missions on this particular TE I intended to be flown by humans, so that's many, many hours of fun :) I have a third completed TE based on a fictional 1996 strike.

I was wondering if someone might be interested? We've flown them a couple times in the squadron, and while they are very long, I love the feel of doing historical missions :) I don't know of anyway to host them though. Here's to hoping that the v0.8 of the theater has correctly assigned national boundries in the TE editor so I don't have to go through, right-click, and set owner on every single one again! (hint hint)

Yeah sorry about the TE's always being half and half team, like you said it yourself, its pain in the neck to assign the correct objective teams per countries so I end up just doing the half and half thing... mostly because I know that in the next release, the same work is there again because we most likely have edited the campaign objectives from where the TE is created.

Understood. So you can't just take the objectives list from the campaign and export it to the TE?

Anyway, yea, if you have to do the exact same work that I do, then it's understandable. If you want me to, once you release the next installment I can manually do the objectives for the TE and send you a .tac file.

PLEASE!!! change the bullseye to the middle of the map in the next version of ODS. In ODS v0.7, you can change the Bulleye using tacedit, and the bullseye DOES change in SP4, but when opened in AF it goes back to its original position like around Mecca. UGH. I even so far as to write a c++ program that searched through the .tac file byte by byte, and found where the bullseye position was stored, but when I changed that, it caused the TE to crash. Maybe my program didn't reproduce the .tac file perfectly after the edit, I donno. Maybe AF just doesn't like the bullseye changed? Maybe if you make the next release with the Bulleye positioned in the middle of map from the start it won't have this issue with AF.

So no where to post .tac files? I know I'm not the only one who would have benefitted from having a template with the countries correctly assigned to their teams.

I am doing that every time, its the objective Team's that don't transfer automatically because TE has them set differently.
If you want me to, once you release the next installment I can manually do the objectives for the TE and send you a .tac file.
Yes we can do that, all help would be greatly appreciated.

I wrote bug report from that, will try to change it for next version. Would you have preferred coordinates in mind?
So no where to post .tac files?
Any file host on the web, maybe like mediafire, sendspace, etc.

I think there is a text file (bfops.cfg?) where you can specify the starting coordinates of Bullseye for the campaign. I'm not at home right now so I don't have any load of AF handy to check. I'll try to check it out and get back asap though and edit this post.

Where do you think a good place to put it is? Baghdad? That's a pretty central location. I mean, right now, if you're flying in northern Iraq you have to turn off bullseye calls and go to BRA because Bullseye becomes meaningless. AWACs in Falcon can only call to 600 or 700 miles, I forget which.

As far as the file sharing sites, thanks for the tip about mediafire, it may be just what I was looking for.

It doesn't set the starting point for the TE though, does it?

I believe historically Bullseye was Baghdad.

Don't quote me though.

I know it affects campaign but I don't know if it also affects TEs.

I'm interested in the TEs. If you need a place to host them, I can do it. PM me with the files and I'll get a link up on this thread.

Aww come on now, no need to be like that. Let's hope he reappears and gives the files for us to download.

Not sure if his email is available on the profile (if its not, I can pull it up from his user info), have you tried to email him about this?

Well SORRY. After posting here and getting no interest (in the time that I monitored the thread), then having more pressing RL stuff come up, and having my squad pretty much show very little continued interest in flying F4 I kind of swept F4 under the rug and didn't come back to check on this post. I can look at possibly trying to figure out how to use those public file hosting sites, or maybe I can use the my squad's site. Pipewrench, if you can still host them, I'd have to email them to you because, as far as I can tell, I cannot PM files.

OK, here they are. Let me know if the link doesn't work for you, but it works just fine for me. I will edit original post to include links as well.
Included in the pack:

Three Templates
Three TEs containing seven separate packages designed for human play.
Hundreds of hours of work!
