Developing the final VTE v0.4

This is a topic for developments leading into VTE v0.4 release, which will be the final release for OFP. I have so far fixed pretty much all of the most noticeable bugs and most wished changes like minor magazine capacity edits and so on. If anyone has any bugs, edits, etc in mind, now its the time to post about them as after v0.4 there wont be further developments for OFP anymore.

Today Jun 21st, 2007 the final push for VTE v0.4 starts. I'll keep posting information to this topic of any nice fixes/edits I can do in the near future before its complete.

Hmm no I dont think so. I do have the skeleton of the discussed SEAL campaign, but I'm afraid I dont have the time to finish it up (meaning it would drag the release too far). Surely I'll take a look at it, as its pretty good already and if it can be made in release condition in short period of time surely it will be added.

I will however add few missions to the PMC NAM SEAL campaign, but to which island I'm not sure yet.

I was looking at the Bell47 helicopter addon, it was reported that it gives texture ratio 512x32 error on dedicated servers. Well I have never played VTE on MP but if this single helicopter addon causes it and fixing it would require "too much" work, then I think only solution is to just drop it from VTE.

Making a placeholder with lets say OH6 so any missions wont get broken.

Opinions anyone?

Did some mission work today. Cleaned up some configs as there were few errors and idend stuff. Cleaned vte_weapons/pics/ for unused pics. Cleaned vte_land/sound/ for unused sounds.

Basically when I'm looking at the bugs list, there is no critical issues anymore (besides the bell47 texture ratio on ded server, which I'm quite sure to remove).

Today I nuked the bell47, fixed one missing texture error on zu23, tweaked isles config, merged isles environmental sounds and deleted unused dupe files, added environmental sounds to mission editor, added those wanted US and NVA weapon (ammo) boxes. And lastly tweaked isle environmental sound levels.

Also I had some playtime in the jungle, man that undergrowth and grass is deadly, you cannot see the enemy more than 10m away, heh so cool, but deadly.

Also tried to fix some P3D errors in O2 but failed, will try harder tomorrow.

Got everything done, of course I would have wanted to do more missions, but that would have just dragged the release date longer. I feel very good about the state of v0.4 right now.

We are go for release :D
