Re: Which Theater should be modded/further developed first?
@ Zaggy: yes advertising would be necessary!!! IF the time will come, could you tell us more about the issue with water barriered theaters? I'm definately not the expert on this, BUT as I understand it F4 has a problem with transporting materiel over water... the reason, you need to load a unit ont...

Re: Which Theater should be modded/further developed first?
If youre really going to try and build a new team, I think you need a NEW PROJECT, and a better place to advertise for ppl... The guys that come here are already interested in Terrain Dev, but it kind of sounds like you want to bring new ppl in too? My next piece of advice; find a good programmer or...

Thats weird! My work on the Data pretty much scoped out once we had data sucessfully loading into DEM2Terrain and generating valid TDF's... All i can suggest here is standard problem solving skills here: - Start again, with fresh GLOBE data (maybe even pick a slightly different theater center; - add...

We know you can change the resolution of the terrain. Widowmaker did it with his 250m L2 terrain (iceland, wasnt it?)... So the question is, are there limits on the terrain resolution? Therefore you could do something like have a 128x128 theater with an 800m L2 instead of 1000m L2... So suddenly 204...

OK, how about rebuilding the terrain with as little in it as possible... IE, remove all the objectives and etc... You could even NOT load the TDF's (in case there is something screwy in one of them)... Finally, if all else fails, move the center of the theater a degree north, south, east or west and...

I'd probably start by rebuilding the theater using JUST the GLOBE data (not the SRTM data) and see what happens. Im not saying i think its the SRTM data doing it, im just saying, cut stuff back and make it as simple as possible... Once youve got the GLOBE based theater working OK, re-insert the SRTM...

Also remember, the places wont be out by MUCH... The points are numbered somehow so the next number is fairly close to the last number... BUT this is interesting... SO, SOME area's work and others may not... Before i start coding a small fix, we should confirm this... I wonder if it has to do with s...

Ranger, are you talking about Showtime 100? The jet flown (into the sea) by Driscoll and Cunningham? They were sitting on a score of two, shot down 3 in one mission (inlcuding the alledged 13 kill NV Ace Col Tomb) that ended up with them banging up the bosses jet and having to punch out once they we...

Indeed. If you get bored, have a look at the raw data... e00 are basically a text format, so it shouldnt be too hard to understand bits of what youre looking at... Position Data is the first major block of data (LAB Block), while Label data tends to be in the last half/third of the file (IFO Block)....

Looking at your screen shot, it looks like its ALL the DATA... Which would lead me to point the finger at DEM2L... Probably something small like the names are being imported into an array and assigned to the previous or next location, instead of their location... if it is something simple like that,...

Re: Accuracy of DCW data for placenames?
At first, I wondered if it was something to do with Zaggy's Russia data, but soon after I found the Japan datas were just as bad - so kudos to Zaggy (again) for not making things worse! :) I do try... Cheers... :) Just curious - has anyone else experienced the same...? Yes, I have noticed this in M...

OK, if i remember right, F4 uses the Bottom Left hand Segment (or is it just the tile?!?! i think it could be just the 'tile' area) as the 'out of bounds' terrain... So ALL terrain OUTSIDE your 16x16 segs will be just this small area repeating over and over... Wasnt the rule always to have the Botto...

In addition, some background on the datasets... The Russian and Chinese Datasets are BIG. Very big, in comparision to the rest of the world. While the REST of the world's data was rendered to a GEOGRAPHIC (or Mercator) project, for some reason, these BIG datasets were Rendered to a LAMBERT projectio...
