Thank you for the kind words, and for ALL the effort you put into the F4 scene. I hate to think how many hours you burnt, but I'm very grateful for them! I also have to thank you for pushing me (ever so gently) to add features, modify stuff and so on. We are all the better for it. Hope to see you ar...

Your talking about the .OBR file rules?

There is a small page on this in the help, showing the syntax for the file, and a brief description of what things mean.

When a new squad is created, the stores are allocated and copied from SSD file. Once the squad is there though - it uses this list. You can edit (I think - did I write that code??) in tacedit from the squadron dialog.

Red Dog,

I'm looking to provide some support in tacedit for more automated squadron generation. I'm thinking a simple CSV format that will come out of excel maybe.

Something like
Airfield-Id (or maybe X,Y), squad number, and some other bits.

Got any ideas on this?

No - no hints - but it really needs help from DX8 and stuff, and as SP2/3 is DX7 its much harder. You can probably do bump mapping in DX7, but as we all know, a better general engine would be first on the shopping list.

There is already a perl tool to split up an idx/rsc file into a set of TGA files, which can then be recompiled into a new resource.

Its the same technique used for the new UI's and stuff.
