Re: Bug report

Some of the SMG's are missing textures or have unusual textures at the moment: MP40, MP45, MPK, and MPL MPK/MPL has just generic texture, MP40 must be just very low quality texture and M45 ... umm need to check that. None of them (and dare I say any VTE models) are missing any textures. They might ...

Re: 'Nam Maps

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3357 I remember trying this one out. It was very dense and the vegetation models (the ones that worked) were very nice. I'm sure it looked great in Arma, but in Arma 2, some textures turned white, and points of the model would shoot off into the distance and warp

Re: Bug report

Sorry mate, I hit submit way too soon. I edited the above post (Went through all of the aircraft) I was just going through the models and pointing out some of the bugs. Not trying to be nit-picky, but it is such a big mod I thought it might help if you have some virgin eyes looking at the stuff. Som...

Bug report v1.3.10

I've been busy with school and I didn't see you were working on the mod again. Anyhow here are some observations. A1J skyraider - Gunsight looks broken (you can't see through it. A6 - nose on the 3d model does not connect on the bottom B54- most of the chassis does not connect on the bottom. Also th...

Re: Never ending developer diary (ArmA 2)

So the v1.3.9 got released because I cannot even think about editing right now, I'm so burnt out. Its so bad that I can't even manage to get anything done for the online manual which is now a just early stage of the full manual what is should be. This release was done now in this condition as I've ...

Re: Vietnam era in COD: Black Ops

It's a movie. All the CoD series are designed that way. It's not a 60$ value movie though I must admit. It has some neat features here and there, but you can't take the game seriously. It's CoD after all. Some of the scenery was neat like the fireflies in the jungle at night or the hastily strapped ...

Re: Download Vietnam: The Experience

Nothing on this site seems to work for me. Do I need some sort of side program for these code windows to work on my PC? Six-updater is almost impossible to make any sense out of. Why not use Armaholic.com?

Re: Project 85 by Vilas

Most of the Armored vehicles he did. M113 APC, M109, LAV 100 and 150, M60A3 Patton, well modeled Jeeps, the AH1 Cobra is well done as well. You also have the late-vietnam era gear like Alice packs, and LBVs. There are also some other really nice models like the Jet pilot and crew chief. His jet pilo...

Project 85 by Vilas

I don't know if you guys have spotted this yet, but Project 85 by Vilas is a really nice mod and it is based only 15 years after the Vietnam war. A lot of the vehicles carry over, and while the US uniforms have all changed from olive drab to the BDU, many of the infantry weapons and gear are still t...

Keeping an eye out

Keeping an eye out for mods and materials that might be useful in making a Vietnam Era mod, or at least neat mods that could be looked at for inspiration. :D Contact information should be readily available on the links, if you can't find it, just let me know and I'll be sure to find it. Re: Tunnels - Never Say Never

A neat little video of an Arma 2 Map: Namalsk with an underground area. A pretty clever setup. The player places satchels and blows the building so that you can see the large cut out in the ground. Take a look, it's a pretty nice job, only a basement, but it could likely give some great ideas. http:...

Re: Tunnels - Never Say Never

I've played around with CQB scenarios in the mission editor. AI isn't completely inept in these situations, but it is 50/50. Unless they are facing a door/hallway, they often don't 'hear' the player coming. There is also places AI won't shoot. For instance, AI will not shoot through windows. Also, A...

Tunnels - Never Say Never

Tunnels aren't just a dream for ARMA 2, they are a real possibility. I realize the editor doesn't let you dig down into the dirt... Vistor doesn't even let you make nice, cut out trenches or holes in the ground, but flying around Chenarus and just taking a look at the terrain made me realize, you do...

Re: ACE Mod

I think the question comes to be how will we impliment it into VTE? Should ACE 2 be a mandatory addition in order for VTE? Or should they be seporate? This is mainly a question for mission editing, also future models/additions like rucksacks, ammo types to use, ect. I'd vote for manditory, seporatin...

ACE Mod

Ace 2 is out, they have a working model of the SKS, M79 and M60 (with its own sound and correct rate of fire) They also have working claymores, tripflares, and bouncing betties. Besides the few Vietnam Era weaponry, Ace has a bunch of cool features to add to Arma2 like backpacks, backblast effects, ...

Re: Interior-To Which Extent

Try to get as sophisticated as you can for the main purpose that once you get one cockpit done, you now have quality parts you can use to use in other cockpit models. Same goes with things like seat position. Once you find the right seat position in one aircraft, it should be easier to set them up i...

Bug Report after Hotfix 1 & 2 Sorry I haven't posted this earlier. Jungle Floor Ia Drang Valley

I think you should re-consider using grassland throughout the entire Ia Drang terrain. Grass doesn't generally grow on the dense jungle floor. Larger plants, trees, and dead leaves make it impossible for grass to survive. Arma 2 has a base forset floorbed texture and leafy plants that could be impli...

Re: VTE preview BUG reports

Every time i crash a aircraft ( both huey chinook or skyraider ) i crash to desktop Oops, if this is confirmed then it calls for a hotfix... This seems to happen with all aircraft in the game. I think this is due to the game not finding the appropriate 'Wreck' model for each of these. Most aircraft...
