So far i have all of the patches for the F-14. note: be sure to verify if patch was used in 1991 ODS. Also some sq/units re-organized after ODS, not that easy to find their patches.

well since a wing is comprised of 2 or more groups, and 2 or more squadrons make a group i guess not, though i never hear of groups though, here i go Sq hunting.

A Fighter Squadron (in the Gulf War and earlier...TACTICAL Fighter Squadrons and STRATEGIC Bomber Squadrons) dont exist by themselves. They either belong to a Tactical Fighter Wing (when there are more than 1 Tactical Fighter Squadrons assigned to it) or.. a Tactical Fighter GROUP when there is only one Tactical Fighter Squadron.

For example, the 32nd TFS (flying F-15C/D based at Soesterberg AB, The Netherlands, deployed to the Gulf) belongs to the 32nd TFG (Tactical Fighter Group). But the 32nd TFG is not just the 32nd TFS which has the aircraft, also the Maint. Squadron, Support Squadron, Security Squadron etc etc are part of the 32nd TFG.

So a TFW isnt made up by several groups but by several squadrons.

I need some help in the ODS instalation,
When I go to install the ODS beta (I have downloded yesterday) the install program tells me that ODS is not in the default F4 directory and to select the SP2x directory. I do and then the installer quits. Any ideas whats going on?

I hope you can help me on this.

EW, could you collect some patches for ODS theater, like:
major combat a/c Sq of
USAF -- F15c/e, F16, A10, F111, F4G, F117, B52
USMC -- AV8
Royal Saudi arab AF -- F15, Tornado ADV, F5
RAF -- tornado, buccaneer, Jagaur
French AF -- Mirage2000, mirageF1, jagaur
Italian AF -- tornado
Iraq AF -- mig29/23/25/21, su24/25, mirageF1

due to the upper limit of Sq patches used ( total 58), we got to make compromise in case no breakthrough in near future. so, i plan to drop patches of support a/c(since you hardly fly them in campaign), focus on major combatants! those exclusively active in war will be stressed.

a rough plan to assign 58 patch slots is:

iraq -- 7 (each a/c type use one patch, roughly)
USN--18 (most for F14/18, A6, EA6, A7)
USAF--23 (for F15C/E, F16, F111, A10, B52)
USMC --2 (F18, AV8)
RAF --3 (tornado, buc, jag)
FAF --2 (m2k, mF1)
RSAF -- 2 ( f15, tornado)
ItAF -- 1 (tornado)

Be more specific, here's USAF patch assignment (total 23 slots only); so dont waste time collecting more than we need.. just pick the best-looking ones

when you adding sq patches to that compressed file, write down their order, for example:

#1. 431st FS A10
#2. 723rd FS F15C
#3. 234th FS F14B

now open your TE/IA/Campaign file with TacEdit, choose [unit], select one a/c squadron, [squadron page]. see, there's a slot named [sqadron patch]. ok, fill in the #.

BTW just remind you, campaign switching may need seperate Sq patch file to go with them!
