ArmA 2 "The Artificial Intelligence" video

Post by Snake Man » 2008-08-25 22:06:31

Again Armaholic.com posted news about ArmA 2 videos:
Our colleagues at armabase.de have released a second video which they took during their visit to the GC in Leipzig showing the AI in Arma 2.

The base of the AI is still the same as it is in Arma however in Arma 2 the AI has been improved and also Bohemia Interactive has given the AI Micro-AI.
This Micro-AI maeks the units move more realistic. This means they could flee when they "think" they are in a very bad position, the AI looks for cover or they clear the area without the need to command them.
Also the AI uses handsignals which by themselves only add to the visiuals since the AI uses the radio to communicate.

Also the pathfinding has been improved including the place on the road where the AI drives.
In Arma 2 the AI will use the right side of the road so that 2 cars can pass eachother without troubles on 1 road.

The video below shows some Russian troops which have been given orders by Ivan Buchta and you will see them perform those orders.
In the second part of the video you will see a battle done by only AI units.

Thanks to Ivan Buchta of Bohemia Interactive as well as the team from armabase.de for sharing all this new information about Arma 2 with the community.
