Re: Reference: Iraq-Iran war 1982
some random thoughts..
-( for all theater mod ) national boundary should be marked on UI 2d map. i am not good at it..just tried and the result is messy. hope ppl good at map could do it.
- a second look at this scenerio..it's a wide front type battlefield..a "North-South oriented" korea DMZ scene..but about double in length!
- the op goal for iran is capturing Baghdad and Al Basarh.. so two or three main comabt routes should be checked.. TE test looks fair.. need more tweak tho. the expected travel time from a border iran obj to Baghdad should be around 11-15 hours.

Re: Reference: Iraq-Iran war 1982
campaign design..summarized from wiki info.
1980-1982 : iraq on offensive
iraq launches attack along north/middle/south routes. ( as mentioned in previous post ). main focus is south route to capture coast obj/Abadan. the middle and north route are defensive.
iraq has strong mechanized units, iran has few infantry, but stronger air power.
1982-1988 : Iran on offensive.
Iran launches attack to recover lost land, along similar routes. south route target is Basarh, then try to capture Baghdad thru middel route. north route targettng Kirkuk.
iran now has much more infantry units, stronger air power. but iraq also got more mechanied units and aircrafts( not that capable as iran).
PS- compared with ODS128 and Iran128 coverage, i think ODS128 is better for this historical campaign. Iran128 covers much less iraq and too much unrelated iran land.
