Adding Tiles to Texture.Zip

Post by Epic » 2008-01-13 12:02:50

SM

I wanted to add use swamp tiles, but there were some transitions tiles and city tiles missing. I used the clonebrush in PSP to create transition, city, and river and road tiles. I created the M,L, and T files and added them all to the texture.zip. I updated the texture.bin and fartiles. I thought everything went smoothly, but in the tile palette in TV the river and road tiles don't look right.

As you can see the river appears to be offset and not centered in the tile. I did have to re-save the Htiles as reduced 256 colours after the fact, because I initially save them as RGB 8bit. I found 1 difference when I compared the file size. The original is 111k and my modified tile is 70k in size. Do you have any ideas why this is happening or what the problme is?

Thanks,

Modified Terrain View

SM

The problem is in the new modified Terrain View, which is capable of using a larger number of tiles. I switched to the old version of Terrain Viewand the tile palette problem is fixed.

I used the modified Terrain View file to load the original texture.bin and texture.zip and it had the same problem.

Can someone else verify this?

New terrainview program shows only the top left 128 x128 piece of the 512 tiles. Everything else is correct. I2m using the old one too...

I never thought to actually insert the new tiles to see if they worked. I just assumed I had done something wrong.

Thanks,
