Snakeman could yes set me up with *.ee0 files
for Iraq, Iran and saudi arabia

as DCW failed me this morning:

I'm having some difficulty getting the info, also. Are you downloading it as PC compressed or Unix? naturally, my first inclination was PC (because that's all I have), but the operation keeps timing out.

If you try to download some large country like russia or china, you cant get all datas in single download. try to get one feature at time, like only roads or only rivers etc.

What countries you need, I have quite large database of feature tar packets in my drive

The very far east of Russia (Chukchi peninsula - Bering Straits) and north western Alaska.

Basically 70 North/180 West to 60 North/150 West. There's not much "civilization" there.

The other problem is that I can't really dedicate a lot of time in one batch to this, so I may have to wait until I get home some time.

Athough it might sound unapropiate
yet if you got not too much time have you might consider helping on ODS theater

as a full map completion will take huge amounts of work, and we could need you

Thanks for the invite - here's my current situation:

I'm a tardy tiler for Snakeman in the ME theater. Part of the problem is that I keep playing with the segments probably more than I should.

The other part of the problem is personal time! I recently got a promotion, so more hours at the office. My wife also had our second daughter on Feb. 17, so I'm pretty busy with that (although my wife is certainly busier !).

I would be willing to switch from the ME to the ODS if that was alright with Snakeman.

Oh - by way of explanation - I've kinda figured the Bering Straits thing to be a non-deadline personal project that I could play with in those few moments I don't have anything else to do!

Thanks for the invite! If the general consensus is to focus on ODS rather than ME, then I'm all for that. If not, I feel I'm committed (in some small way) to ME.

Well basically ODS and F4ME are the same thing NOW. But yes you could help out with ODS tiling, just email me and I'll get you setup.
